FEMALE FOUNDERS

Female Founders

As part of our commitment to celebrating trailblazing women, the Super Girl Surf Festival is proud to spotlight female founders who are making waves in their industries. This special feature highlights inspiring entrepreneurs who embody the Super Girl spirit, fearless, innovative, and driven to create positive impact. Many of these incredible women will be at the festival September 19-21, giving you the chance to connect with them, explore their products, and support female-founded brands that are shaping the future. Don’t miss the opportunity to meet them and be inspired!

Emmi & Olivia Cole

Twin sisters, co-founders, and the creative force behind Turbulent Mind, a sustainable surfwear brand fusing functional design with the retro soul of surfing’s golden era.

Their journey began in Bali, where sketching tattoos at a marine conservation project sparked inspiration that evolved into a full lifestyle brand. Today, Turbulent Mind outfits men and women who live boldly — creating eco-conscious apparel and swimwear that empower adventurers, wave chasers, and risk-takers, while honoring creativity, resilience, and a love for the ocean.

Amanda Champ

Amanda Champ is the founder of Surfing Coconut, a lifestyle brand redefining hydration with premium, all-natural coconuts. What started as her love for wellness has grown into a movement that makes hydration fun, stylish, and community-driven. Her fresh, custom-branded coconuts have become a favorite at festivals, weddings, corporate events, and beachside gatherings. With a mission rooted in quality, creativity, and aloha spirit, Amanda has transformed the humble coconut into a symbol of health, happiness, and connection—proving that wellness can be both bold and unforgettable.

Diana Karpenko

Diana Karpenko is a proud SoCal native who loves sun, nature, and nourishing her body with superfoods. In today’s fast paced world, it can be difficult to find the time to consume a healthy and nutrient dense diet. To make consuming superfoods quick and easy, she and her partner co-founded JUGO SUPERFOODS—the first line of tasty, functional superfood gummies. Based in San Clemente, CA, JUGO is now available in stores nationwide and inspires people to get outside and fuel their body with the power of superfoods!

Jamie MacDonald

We are a woman-founded and family-run business, deeply passionate about co-creating colorful, comfortable, fun, and flattering jumpsuits for friends of all body types. We cherish the opportunity to travel the country together, embracing learning, laughter, and the beauty of nature. We feel incredibly blessed to pursue our passions as a family—and it’s because of our Hummingbird friends that this dream has become a reality. Your support means the world to us. Thank you from the depths of our hearts.

Jackie Ables

Jackie Ables, founder of Wet and Wild Adventure Company, is a true ocean soul with passions anchored in all things water. From surfing, shark diving, and sailing to river rafting and waterfall chasing, she thrives on wild adventures that blend nature and culture. Jackie treasures moments of connection — swapping stories with locals, dancing to new rhythms, and sharing a sunset and a cold one with new friends all over the world all while believing that the greatest journeys are those that bring people together.

Maggie Raymond

Maggie Raymond is the co-founder of The Beach Rooster, a sun care brand dedicated to creating eco-conscious SPF. With a background shaped by her Arizona and Southern California roots, Maggie combined her passion for skin health and environmental responsibility to launch a tinted mineral sunscreen that is both reef-friendly and formulated specifically for your face. As a female entrepreneur, she champions community, the arts, and outdoor extreme sports, bringing innovation and purpose to the sun care industry.

Brittany Jones

Brittany Jones, a professional hairstylist turned ocean entrepreneur, blends her lifelong love of the sea with over a decade of salon expertise. After years of sailing, diving, and surfing, she saw how saltwater damages hair—and created a solution. From her San Diego base, she launched Coconut Smuggler, the first saltwater-focused haircare brand designed to protect and nourish hair. Products like Feeling Nauti (pre-ocean protectant) and Landlubber (post-ocean leave-in) are reef-safe, sustainably packaged, and performance-driven. A passionate female founder, Brittany is empowering others while making waves in surf shops and eco-conscious retailers nationwide.
